Operations Gate Lane Monitor Lane Monitor view

The Lane Monitor view displays the status of the lanes defined for all the gates and exchange areas at your site. To view the scanned data for a truck in a gate lane use the Scan Sets view (on page 1).

You can use this view to:

• Monitor the progress of the trucks in the lanes

• Detect any trouble in a lane

• Correct scanned data, such as electronic scale, RFID, and OCR readings

• Manually process a truck

• Re-initiate automatic gate processing

The Truck Status column indicates the status of the truck in the gate lane as follows:

• Allocated: The truck is assigned to a yard exchange lane.

• Empty: The gate lane is empty.

• Processing: A clerk is processing the gate transaction(s) for the truck in the gate lane.

• Scan Failure: An error is returned for a scanned item for a truck in the gate lane.

• Trouble: The truck in the gate lane has been sent to the trouble desk.

• Waiting: A truck is waiting in the gate lane.

• Wrong Stage: The truck in the gate lane is at the wrong gate stage.

You can use the Actions menu to:

• Recover Obsolete: Recover deleted gate lanes.

• Purge: Purge gate lane data.

• Fix Scans (on page 1): Correct scanned data.

You can also click in the Gate Lane Monitor view to fix scans for the selected lane.

• Open/Close Lane (on page 1): Mark gate lane(s) as open, closed, locked, or reserved. The Lane Status column reflects the current status of a lane.

• Clear Truck from Lane: Remove any truck visit related data, including error messages and set the Lane Status for the lane as Empty.

• Pedestal Reset: Send an outbound pedestal reset message to return a pedestal to be ready for the next truck.

This option requires the Gate Lane Monitor Actions - Reset Pedestal (LANE_RESET_PEDESTAL) privilege.

• Retry Auto-Gate: Re-initiate processing for an auto gate stage.

• View Images: View the scanned images for the truck in the gate lane in an external image viewer.

• Send to Trouble: Send the truck in the lane to the trouble desk and set the Lane Status for the lane as Trouble.

• Pull Forward: Send the truck to the next gate stage.

• Show Errors: List all the errors for the truck visit in the selected lane.

N4 displays the error messages for the truck visit in the Truck Visit Error Messages column in the Lane Monitor view.

N4 displays two sets of truck identifier fields in the Lane Monitor view:

• Scan attributes: Always displayed. If the details are scanned but a matching truck visit does not exist, N4 displays only these attributes.

• Truck Visit attributes: Displayed only if the details are scanned and a matching truck visit exists.
